El solidarismo cristiano, una de las fuentes del cooperativismo

Abstract
El artículo investiga el profundo vínculo entre el cooperativismo y la Doctrina Social de la Iglesia. El estudio analiza el Magisterio de la Iglesia en el ámbito social y todas las encíclicas relevantes -desde Rerum Novarum de 1891 hasta Laudato si' de 2015- para ver cómo está presente y se desarrolla el tema de la empresa cooperativa. A continuación, se comparan los principios de la Doctrina Social y los principios cooperativos. De este análisis surge claramente la «coincidencia doctrinal», que encuentra sus razones en el particular modelo económico cooperativo. La parte final está dedicada a figuras emblemáticas (cristianos, religiosos y laicos) que, impulsados por su fe, han abordado problemas de justicia social favoreciendo el instrumento cooperativo para promover la dignidad y la autonomía económica.
