Blockchain & tokenization: Opportunities and challenges for Central America

Abstract
This work contextualizes an innovative and disruptive alternative to expand the commercialization of agricultural products through the use of emerging technologies such as Blockchain & Tokenization, through the Security Token Offering; as an opportunity for the Central American region to venture into alternative markets and with underlying assets backed by the token. Likewise, some challenges that the region faces in order to implement this type of solutions are described, through the analysis of structured secondary data, information collected from various sources such as the World Bank, The Economist Group or Statista, showing the challenges that central governments of Central America must face in the search for new alternatives for marketing products, in an era called the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
