Abstract

It has been 20 years since the constitution of the ETEA Foundation for Development and Cooperation. Its creation was a decision of the Society of Jesus of Andalusia to give it a personality of its own and different from ETEA, where it had been incubating. The Foundation was born to strengthen and consolidate a line of action that had already been in existence for a long time and had left a considerable mark on ETEA. That is why what we propose in these pages is not to present the history of the Foundation, but to go back to its prehistory, to go into its history. In this previous stage we will find, not only what preceded it, but also what were its roots, its initial inspiration. This inspiration has not lost its validity in the 20 years of the Foundation’s life, although it has had to adapt to the changing circumstances of our world and of cooperation, and also of ETEA’s own evolution until it became Loyola Andalucía University.
