Challenge for social conditions in the new Europe of the third millennium

Abstract
Globalisation leads to new frameworks for the working environment all over the world, but this is especially so in the case of the European Union, where many of its hard–won battles in the past for more favourable working conditions are now questioned. Within this context the question of a social Europe becomes once more one of today’s issues as a task that corresponds not only to the European Union but to each and every one of its member states. At the core of this policy are three vital matters: creation of high quality employment, sustainable economic growth, and improvement in the development of potential innovation and creativity. Which are the specific fields where this can be done?
