Compatibility of private life with professional activity: telework as an alternative
Main Article Content
Abstract
During the 2001 European Summit in Stockholm, determinant factors for quality at work and employment in the eurozone were defined: security, welfare and health, professional development and compatibility between work and family life. Regarding this last matter, the reality imposed by an increasingly competitive labour market indicates that, in future years, the balance between family life and work will be tipped in favour of the latter one. The consequences will be shown on labour statistics: tiredness, headaches, backaches or difficulties to get to sleep, among others. This article defends that telework, spite of its scarce settlement in Spain, can contribute to compatibility between private life and work. In any case, the advantages and inconveniences that go with it suggest the necessity of a meeting place where employees can fulfil their aspirations and where real possibilities of the company are not left aside.
