From Liberation to Resistance. A look at Liberation Theology from the heart of the empire
Main Article Content
Abstract
The author offers a critical survey of the evolution of Latin American liberation theology and its understanding of social transformation. He combines theological and sociological approaches, especially from North American authors. From this perspective, and focusing on the First World context (Europe and USA), this essay proposes to strengthen the role of radical Christian communities in contrast to the dominant liberal–capitalist system. That way the Church can embody a social space of resistance to the empire.
