Professional ethics and university education. Three models for professional responsibility

Abstract
This article begins analysing the reasons why Professional Ethics encourages public debate on the relationship between university and society, human capital and social capital. Professional Ethics plays an important role in university life when its mediating function comes into play, allowing the members of the university community to generate a public forum for debate in which the values and model for society being promoted become the object of discussion. This study ends by presenting three models for professional responsibility with the aim of generating debate on professional Ethics in university education that is mechanistic, civilising and identifying.
