Abstract

This paper raises two questions: Is there an ideology of solidarity that supports the project of the Millenium Development Goals? What are the elements for a culture of solidarity? Taking as an example the evolution of the Sustainable Development Conference at Johannesburg in 2002 and subsequent data, it reaches the conclusion that the world today does not show signs of being moving towards solidarity. About the second question, it mentions four elements: the Christian point of view (the Kingdom Banquet), the oppressed as agent of history, the inclusive identities opposite the murderous identities and the search for joint actions.
