Manuel Giménez Fernández. Personalidad y pensamiento
Main Article Content
Abstract
From the intervention of his author in a ceremony of honour held at the Ateneo in Seville, this text constitutes an evocation of the figure of Manuel Giménez Fernández, Professor in Law and minister during the Second Spanish Republic. Some basic ideas of the thought of that illustrious professor and politician are enumerated and special importance is lent to the lessons that emerge from his political action during the convulsive period that he lived. Spite of the limitations arisen from his context and the attacks that he has suffered from different fronts, the author defines Giménez Fernández as a precursor of democracy in Spain, highlighting the influence of his Christian inspiration on his academic and political routine and the exemplary nature of his personality.
