Contribution of University to the dignifying of Public Life

Abstract
Contribution of university to public life focuses, according to this article, on the following aspects: that university carries out specific duties (research, teaching and disseminate in a critical way) entrusted by society; consideration of research, teaching and dissemination as internal goods of university, in contrast with their frequent use for keeping the social status; role of university in forming competent professionals that practise their profession with social sense and responsibility; formation of people capable of helping others improve their living conditions, in Jesus Society centres; place of ethics in university allowing disciplines and departments mediation and with society as well; participation in a plural world although limiting party or ideology approaches; contribution of practical rationality in a permanent dialogue with the current world in order to reach human life lived with dignity, freedom, equality and prosperity.
