Abstract
Building on successive questionings on some common assertions, the author is testing a reflection on the meaning of university education. Having a purpose, not only have goals, to have questions and keeping alive their existential and intellectual tension, is part of the heart of the vocation and the mission of the university. The author states that the university must reflect on values, the ones which have been proclaimed by itself and the values which are truly consolidated, and it would necessary to rethink the widespread speech on talent and to answer to the question about the type of person that we desire to be and the kind of life we look for.
