Satan's second ‘debut’. Take two.
Main Article Content
Abstract
After the first take of this ‘film’ on the problem of Satanism, which was more descriptive and focused on updating the situation, the author makes this ‘second take,’ which is more theological and doctrinal in nature. In this ‘second take,’ three issues must be addressed: the first is the problem of the devil's existence, as it appears in the documents of the Church's magisterium and in theology, although the issue has not been the subject of a precise and specific dogmatic-doctrinal definition. The only one we have available aims directly to rule out the possibility of any dualistic interpretation of the divine. A second question is that of the personal nature that this existence may have. The third is the question of demonic or diabolical possession, the symptomatic characteristics that have been attributed to it, the interpretation of this phenomenological symptomatology of alleged cases of demonic possession, and the practice of exorcism in the Church.
