The “Revelation of the Spirits” (Part One) History
Main Article Content
Abstract
The author attempts to clarify the history of spiritualism as an alternative “religious” movement within the realm of the occult. In this article, he describes the prehistory and history of its birth and its bifurcation into two trends or branches: Anglo-Saxon spiritualism and Central European “Kardecist” spiritualism. He also examines attempts at scientific clarification of the phenomenon and certain connections with Christianity. In a future issue, some doctrinal issues will be addressed in this regard.
