Abstract
Professor Taborda reflects in this fundamentally historical work on the peculiarity of the religious priest. The conjunction between Religious Life and the ordained ministry has not always been a peaceful issue, which has received a linear and unimpeded articulation since it began. This article suggests that the three models of "presbyterate" (local, prophetic-itinerant, martyrdom) still be taken into consideration to theologically base a diversification in the way of understanding and living the priestly ministry today.
