Violence in Latin America

Abstract

Violence on the contemporary scene has disconcerting dimensions. It is a phenomenon that transcends borders and concerns the entire international community. In any case, there are peculiarities in the concrete manifestation of violence due to the local or regional circumstances that converge in its appearance. This is the case on the Latin American continent. The well-known Cardinal Madariaga proposes a reading of the roots of the violence occurring in the region. Drugs and arms trafficking are behind the scenes, exerting an enormously destabilising effect.
