Mary, archetype of the feminine in the Church

Abstract

The intention of this article is to highlight the importance of the figure of Mary in the life of the Church today, as a real and concrete woman. It does not claim for Mary the centrality that corresponds entirely to the reign of God, lived and proclaimed by Jesus, the concrete and historical man, the Christ confessed in faith. It does call for a greater and better acceptance of the human-feminine that she represents in our Church. Professor León Martín tries to echo the sensitivity shown by today's culture towards the anthropological data, without minimising one iota the universal theological-anthropological criterion to which Mariology is absolutely addressed.
