Abstract

There have always been Marxist authors with difficulties within their militant political organisations in their approaches to religion. Their reflections on the phenomenon of religion have made it easier for them both to deepen their own Marxist conception and to perceive its internal inadequacies. The realisation of the lack of fully satisfactory answers to certain human questions enables many of them to critically reconsider Marxism. And this obliges them to include, as an object of reflection, problems that have always been central to Christian experience. This paper aims to synthesise the main arguments put forward by the most prominent figures in the Christian-Marxist dialogue. It gives special prominence to one who was a paradigm of all of them: Alfonso Carlos Comín.
