Faced with the risk of fundamentalism the difficult adventure of education

Abstract

"Today we speak of political fundamentalism, of secular fundamentalism, of right-wing and left-wing fundamentalism, of ecological or dietary fundamentalism, of nationalist fundamentalism, of fundamentalism which is twinned with fundamentalism and fanaticism, and which can lead to intellectual and verbal aggressiveness, or to terrorist violence". But are they all the same, and do they all have the same cause? Professor Antonio Jiménez believes that behind all these different expressions lies the more important reality of existential fundamentalism. For this reason, he analyses with depth and wisdom the true roots of this phenomenon, with the desire to propose some keys for a preventive education for young people, which opens them up to the acceptance of the multicultural nature of society and the search for interculturalism.
