Abstract

The shelves of any bookstore house numerous titles interested in religious issues. It has been said that “God has become a best-seller.” The article traces some of these books (Trojan Horse, Da Vinci Code, Daughter of God...) and presents a study that analyzes how they can be considered the “apocrypha” of our time that they claim. , where they lead, what are their “tics” and favorite themes... To do this, a comparison is made between the fundamental features of the apocryphal literature of the OT and the NT, their pretensions, motives and socio-religious environment in which they arise. , with the claims, themes and motives and all this literature that has turned the religious into a topic that sells. The work ends with an open door to future research that analyzes what images of God, Jesus, the Church and Scripture are spreading and what challenges they pose to theologians and pastoral agents.
