Abstract

The presence of women in the Church that arose from the events of Easter and Pentecost has been a presence full of self-giving and passion, with all that the term passion entails of love and gratuitous self-giving, and also of suffering and, frequently, oppression. At a time when women are seeking to formulate their presence in all spheres of society, the proposal made by the theologian Trinidad León, who questions and reflects on the presence of women in the Church, taking the God-Trinity as a model, is suggestive. Starting from a historical balance of the position of women in the Church, she immerses us in the triune God as a theological analogue from which to understand the world of relationships that are open to women believers in the Church of the 21st century. Trinidad León offers us a feminine perspective to restore hope in a Church open to the ‘plurality of relationships in the unity of the essence’.
