The Simpsons and the Bible I. The data
Main Article Content
Abstract
In October 2010, the 3848 issue of La Civiltà Cattolica published an article by F. Ochetta titled “I ‘simpson’ e la religione” (The Simpson and religion). In our country a good portion of the Mass Media registered the appearance of the work, and published headlines like “Papal Bull for Homer”, or, “Bart and Homer are good Catholics, so says the Church.” This article wants to show the frequent references to the Bible, to its personages and traditions, in this series, all through its twenty years of existence, and it intends to offer a kind of “data bank” on the issue, which would encourage Christian educators to consider the series in the frame of its evangelizing praxis, and promises to be the prelude of an article which will study the data, from the perspective of the biblical studies.
