International private associations of the faithful in the CIC 1983 A canonical approach

Abstract
The recent celebration of the 3rd International Congress of Ecclesial Movements and New Communities brings us the occasion to approach the Canonical nature of these lay groups, approved by the Pontifical Council for the Laity as “international private associations of the faithful”. This article offers an overview throughout the associations of the faithful, as well as what characterizes them as “private” and “international” associations.
