Paul Ricoeur and the interpretation of the religious symbol in Latin American liberation philosophy

Abstract
The religious symbol plays a fundamental role in the hermeneutic of Paul Ricoeur and has a great influence in the Philosophy of liberation in Latin America. For this current of philosophy the myths and the symbols are alternative to the rationalised philosophy of Europe. The article analyse the influence of Ricoeur in Dussel and Scannone, and the importance of the Hermeneutic of the myths for the political philosophy.
