Multiculturalism in Kymlicka
Main Article Content
Abstract
The phenomenon of globalization has triggered a process of ethnic diversification in western societies, which has increased with unknown velocity. In the last 20 years, Spain has gone from being a country that people left to receiving over Millions of residents. Currently the percentage of first and second generation residents/nationals is over 15% in most western countries. This phenomenon is forcing western societies to reconsider new ways to deal with citizenship and national belonging. Will Kymlicka, Canadian political philosopher, has become one of the main references in how to face this issue within the context of liberal democracies. In this article I intend to sketch out Kymlicka's proposal.
