Sin: conscious denial, free and responsible to the o(O)ther. An interpretation from philosophy by Byung-Chul Han
Main Article Content
Abstract
This article seeks to propose a philosophical-theological dialogue around the concept of sin from the Fundamental Theological Anthropology and the philosophy of Byung-Chul Han. The thesis we seek to propose is that sin can be understood as the conscious, free and responsible negation of the another and the Other (God). This denial can be interpreted from the categories of “lack of gaze”, “power” or “liquid evil” present in current philosophical reflection. In the end, a synthesis is proposed of how the gaze, which is denied in sin, is one that allows us to experience salvation and the grace of encounter.
