Abstract

This article makes a historiographic analysis of lectio divina and its sources in relation to canonical texts in medieval Europe from the time of Cluny, 10th to 13th centuries. This same phenomenon is studied and compared with the written texts of other Eastern religions such as Hinduism and Buddhism, and comparative conclusions are made in this regard.
