Silence and the sacred, among other silences

Abstract

Only silence, interior and exterior, allows a reflective reading of the various sacralities to open the way. A reading that will only be fruitful if it is developed in a dialogue that requires one's own silence to listen to the other. Silence is not solipsism. Silence implies openness to the other, in the depths of their otherness. Only with this condition can the “I-you” relationship have as its north and objective universal fraternity and ethics. Religious or secular, but universal.
