The Principle of Subsidiarity of the Social Doctrine of the Church in the Political Constitution of Chile of 1980
Main Article Content
Abstract
The present work addresses the topic of the presence of the principle of subsidiarity of the Social Doctrine of the Church in the Constitution of the Republic of Chile of 1980. To do so, we delve into its history and development from the perspective of social philosophy and the development in the Magisterium. Subsequently, the adoption of subsidiarity in the Constitution of Chile is reviewed, and one of its intellectual authors is studied. We conclude with a reflection on the conceptual difficulties that subsidiarity poses and propose its understanding within the context of the broader theological frameworks of the Social Doctrine of the Church.
