Testamentary Demands (1503) and death of the founder (1505) of the Hospital de las Cinco Llagas in Seville
Main Article Content
Abstract
In 1500, a hospital was founded in Seville, first of small dimensions which, progressively, will acquire proportions that will make it one of the most impressive and emblematic buildings of the Seville Renaissance. Its foundation is due to one of the most enterprising women of the moment, belonging to the noble House of the Adelantados Mayores de Andalucía, which had played such an important role throughout the Middle Ages due to the relevant political, military, economic and fundamentally legal consequences that this position entailed, especially in the conquest of Al-Andalus.
